GHOSTED – Salon Terms & Conditions

These Terms & Conditions (“Terms”) apply to all hairdressing and beauty services provided by GHOSTED (“the Salon”, “we”, “our”, “us”) to any client (“you”, “your”). By booking an appointment, you acknowledge and agree to be bound by these Terms.

1. Patch Testing

1.1 A patch test is mandatory at least 48 hours before the following services:

  • Hair colour services (including highlights, balayage, toners, bleaching and root applications).

  • Eyebrow and eyelash tinting services.

1.2 Failure to attend a patch test will result in cancellation of your appointment.
1.3 The Salon accepts no liability for adverse reactions if you decline or fail to attend a patch test.

2. Personal Property & Clothing

2.1 While reasonable care is taken, hair and beauty products may cause staining to clothing.
2.2 Clients are advised to wear appropriate clothing on appointment days.
2.3 The Salon accepts no responsibility for damage, loss, or staining of clothing, accessories, or personal belongings brought into the Salon.

3. Damage to Salon Property

3.1 Clients are expected to treat Salon property and equipment with care.
3.2 The Salon reserves the right to recover the cost of repair or replacement where damage is caused by client negligence, misuse, or deliberate action.

4. Aftercare & Maintenance

4.1 The Salon provides professional aftercare advice to support the longevity of hairdressing and beauty services.
4.2 The Salon accepts no responsibility for issues arising due to failure to follow aftercare or maintenance guidelines.
4.3 No refunds, complimentary corrections, or liability will be accepted in such cases.

5. Appointments & Scheduling

5.1 The Salon only operates on hourly booking slots (e.g., 10:00, 11:00, 12:00).
5.2 Appointments booked at half past the hour (e.g., 10:30, 11:30) will be automatically adjusted to the closest available full-hour slot.
5.3 Clients are responsible for checking appointment confirmations to ensure they are aware of the correct appointment time.

6. Cancellations & Rescheduling

6.1 The Salon operates a strict 48-hour cancellation policy.
6.2 Cancellations or reschedules made within 48 hours of the appointment time may prevent the appointment from being reallocated, and clients may be asked to prepay for future appointments if this occurs repeatedly.
6.3 Failure to attend (“no-show”) will be treated as a breach of this policy (see Section 7).

7. No-Shows & Prepayment Policy

7.1 One “no-show” (failure to attend without notice) is permitted without further penalty.
7.2 After the first no-show, the client will be moved to a prepayment-only system, requiring full advance payment for all future appointments.
7.3 Prepaid appointments are non-refundable and non-transferable if the client does not attend.

8. Lateness

8.1 Clients are expected to arrive on time for their appointment.
8.2 Clients arriving more than 15 minutes late may have their service shortened to fit within the allocated booking time, while the full service price will still apply.
8.3 If lateness prevents the service from being carried out, the appointment may be cancelled and recorded as a no-show (see Section 7).
8.4 Repeated lateness may result in the client being moved to the prepayment-only system.

9. Service Satisfaction

9.1 If you are dissatisfied with a service, you must notify the Salon within 48 hours of your appointment.
9.2 The Salon may, at its discretion, offer a correction service.
9.3 Refunds are not issued for change of mind or failure to follow aftercare.

10. Health & Safety

10.1 You must inform the Salon of any allergies, conditions, or medications that may affect your service.
10.2 The Salon reserves the right to refuse service if a treatment is deemed unsafe.

11. Allergies & Food Intolerances

11.1 The Salon provides digital consultation forms (sent via email) for all clients to declare allergies, medical conditions, or food intolerances.
11.2 Completion of these forms is mandatory for all clients; however, it remains your responsibility to ensure the information provided is accurate and up to date.
11.3 The Salon is not responsible for checking forms prior to every appointment. It is your duty to verbally remind staff of any allergies, conditions, or intolerances at each visit.
11.4 The Salon accepts no liability for allergic reactions, intolerance issues, or health complications if this information has not been disclosed clearly and accurately.

12. Children & Guests

12.1 Clients must notify the Salon in advance if they intend to bring children or additional guests to their appointment.
12.2 The Salon has limited capacity and, during busy periods, may not be able to accommodate non-clients in the salon area.
12.3 Where possible, the Salon will advise of quieter or more suitable times if children or guests wish to attend.
12.4 The Salon reserves the right to refuse entry to additional persons if this would pose a health and safety risk, cause disruption, or exceed safe capacity limits.

13. Photography & Marketing

13.1 The Salon may take before-and-after photos of services for training or marketing.
13.2 You must inform us prior to your service if you do not consent to this.

14. Data Protection & Privacy (UK GDPR Compliance)

14.1 The Salon collects and stores personal information (including name, contact details, appointment history, allergy information, and patch test results) solely for the purposes of providing services and maintaining client safety.
14.2 Your personal data will not be shared with third parties unless required by law.
14.3 Data is stored securely in compliance with the UK General Data Protection Regulation (UK GDPR) and the Data Protection Act 2018.
14.4 You have the right to request access to, correction of, or deletion of your personal data held by the Salon at any time.
14.5 By booking an appointment, you consent to the collection and use of your personal data in accordance with this policy.

15. Limitation of Liability

15.1 The Salon shall not be liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential loss or damage, however arising.
15.2 Nothing in these Terms shall exclude liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, as required under Scots law.

16. Governing Law

16.1 These Terms are governed by the law of Scotland.
16.2 Any disputes shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the Scottish courts.

17. Client Responsibility

17.1 It is the client’s responsibility to read, understand, and check the Salon’s Terms & Conditions prior to making an appointment.
17.2 By booking an appointment with GHOSTED, the client confirms that they have read, understood, and agreed to be bound by these Terms.
17.3 The Salon reserves the right to amend these Terms at any time, and the most recent version will always apply.
